John Popper told MTV News that Blues Traveler will be back on next
year's H.O.R.D.E. tour in a full-time capacity, along with Ben Harper and
the Barenaked Ladies. The tour will line-up some 35 to 40 shows next
summer, and will kick off in July, most likely after the band's annual
July blow-out at Red Rocks.
Popper and his Blues Traveler bandmates launched the H.O.R.D.E. tour six
years ago, and will apparently return to a low-key approach after mounting
a gargantuan outing this summer. The '97 version of the festival featured
a revolving line-up of performers that included Beck, Soul Coughing, Kula
Shaker, Ben Folds Five, Primus, Morphine, and the Squirrel Nut Zippers
among others, with Neil Young and Crazy Horse headlining the affair.
Before this year, the tour had an earthier tone with bands like the Black
Crowes, the Dave Matthews Band, Lenny Kravitz, and, of course, Blues
Traveler playing past outings.
