02-16-2000New Gov't Mule album dedicated to Bob Sheehan; Another keyboardist auditions; decision soon

The new album from Gov't Mule, Life Before Insanity was released yesterday, and inside the jacket is a dedication to the memory of Bob Sheehan. Bob was a longtime friend of Gov't Mule and sat in with them on several occasions, as early as 1997 and as recently as 3-24-99 at Irving Plaza in New York. In October, shortly after Bob's funeral, John joined Gov't Mule for a moving rendition of The Mountains Win Again, in Bob's memory, and now things come full circle with this touching dedication.

Additionally, as rumored on this site's bulletin board, New York-area keyboardist Jason Crosby was recently flown down to Austin, TX to audition with the band as they do pre-production work on their next album. Crosby has jammed with numerous bands including Solar Circus, MJ-12, Leftover Salmon, God Street Wine, and many others. Crosby is also known to play trumpet, violin and several other instruments. The band is reportedly set to decide soon on the new keyboard player, if they add one - possibly within a week. Come back soon for the latest news and possibly comments from Jason himself.
