02-17-2000Keyboard player selection has been made

According to close associates of the keyboardist himself, Blues Traveler has selected Ann Arbor, Michigan's Ben Wilson as keys player on their next studio album. Wilson was flown down to Austin to try out with the band over three weeks ago, and the band has reportedly extended an offer to him over four other strong candidates after listening to dozens of tapes submitted to them following a January advertisement in Keyboard magazine.

While Wilson is slated to join the band in the studio to record the next disc, it is still unclear whether or not the band plans to add Wilson as a fifth member on their cross-country tours. Blues Traveler experimented in its earliest days [prior to the earliest known recorded gigs] with horn players, but for most of recorded history, Blues Traveler has been a core of four musicians. Whether this addition is temporary or permanent, Wilson looks to be a capable and dynamic player which will change the face of Blues Traveler for the near future.
