03-13-2000Red Rocks plans announced, Blues Traveler jams away in Austin, Electronic GAAG to come

As announced on Boulder's KBCO-FM earlier this week, Blues Traveler will be returning to Morrison, Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheater for one show on Tuesday, July 4th, after the Allman Brothers Band plays there on July 3rd for the first time since 1992. While rumors are running rampant that the band will be in town for several days, given their friendliness with the Allmans, nothing is confirmed at this point. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 17th, at 10am, at the price of $32.50 apiece. Tickets can be purchased by calling (303) 830-8400 or (719) 520-9090. No opener has been announced for the show; more information will be available soon.

In the meantime, Ben Wilson and Tad Kinchla continue to mesh with their new bandmates as they jam away deep in the heart of Texas. According to reports they have written several new songs and rewritten dozens more as they spend weeks together learning the quirks of the new lineup and bouncing new ideas off of each other. They hope to take some time off before bringing the new music into the studio a few months from now, and should try out their tunes live on some "tuneup gigs" prior to Red Rocks [locations unknown]. Tad has been zealously archiving his thoughts, some sounds and even video of the sessions in Austin and these may be available soon through the official site.

Gina sez... that she's still collecting addresses for the new electronic Gigs at a Glance. If you haven't yet, send an email to blackcatz@earthlink.net with GAAG in the subject line. Be sure to include your mailing address as well as the band may do mailings in the future. If you are updating your address, be sure to include your old address [email or snail mail] in the body of the message as well. No mailings have gone out yet though one should be happening within the next few months as tour dates shape up, so get your addresses in!
