11-25-2003John Popper to appear with Rob Wasserman; New downloads available in Downloads area

A recently-published note on Ratdog fan site ratdog.org indicates that Ratdog's Rob Wasserman will apparently hosting a series of "Wasserman Sessions" with various musicians in and around the San Francisco area. Wasserman Session #1 has been scheduled for December 15th at the San Francisco night club Slim's, featuring none other than John Popper, in what is billed as "an evening of whatever comes to mind". This marks what is thought to be only the third time that the two have appeared on stage together. The first such collaboration was a 1997 ForEverGreen benefit where John and the late Bobby Sheehan appeared alongside Weir & Wasserman, while the most recent was a guest appearance by Wasserman and keyboardist Merl Saunders at the Warfield in November of 2001. Tickets can be purchased through virtuous.com for the price of $23.

We would also like to announce the addition of several new downloads hosted by generous fans by means of the BitTorrent protocol. We have been tracking .torrent files posted on both the public bt.etree.org server as well as the famous membership-required sharingthegroove.org message boards since the re-launch of BluesTraveler.net, and the latest offerings include a 1994 West Palm Beach gig with Phish's Trey Anastasio, a 1992 Nashville show with a rare Onslaught, the first of a three-night Frogwings stand at the Wetlands in 1999 and a rare, high-quality soundboard of the first o two outstanding nights at Red Rocks in 1998. To find out more about the BitTorrent protocol and/or grab the files and start downloading, visit the Downloads section of the web site.
