Most recent news: 07-08-98 - A bit more information on Harriet Island - in speaking with sources close to the H.O.R.D.E., apparently the fault lies more with the venue than with the tour itself. I was told that the venue did not have the proper permits to pull the show off with everything intact. Many bands were actually willing to sign waivers and donate all proceeds to a relief fund for tornado victims in the midwest, but the idea stalled and was discarded. * On a related note, the H.O.R.D.E. is going to still be helping out those in need - Florida's fire victims. According to a story on SonicNet, Dave Frey - co-founder of the H.O.R.D.E. along with John Popper - is quoted as saying that part of the August 19th show's proceeds will go towards the Florida Fire Emergency Relief Fund. All the more reason to check out what will be an outstanding stop of the H.O.R.D.E. anyway. * Merl Saunders' dates will occur in California, according to one resident of the San Francisco area. Count on him showing up at Shoreline Amphitheater and possibly Mountain View. * Also rumored to show up on some West Coast dates will be a Seattle-area band with but two gigs under their belt. The band, which goes under the name Stolen Ogre, is a project of several seasoned Seattle musicians, including H.O.R.D.E. headliner Blues Traveler's drummer, Brendan Hill. This band is loaded with talent - keyboardist Michael McMorrow plays regularly with blues legend Taj Mahal, saxman Scott Adams has played with Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains/Guns 'n Roses, and local residents might know vocalist Pam Tobiason from Daddy Long Legs or KISW Twisted Tunes, or guitarist David Simpson from the Yarddogs or Thirstin' Howl. Bassist Walter White rounds out the bunch, and if they make it onto the tour as is rumored, the Left Coast could be in for a pummeling. Stay tuned!Click here for older news
Known dates:
NOTE: While this is *close* to the full itinerary, there are still some spots left to be filled, especially in August and toward the end of the tour. Keep in mind that not all venues have been inked yet (that is, the ones without asterisks) and as such may change without warning. An asterisk (*) before a date means that the date AND venue are confirmed, while an asterisk before the venue but not the date means that a location is known but a date has not been fixed yet.
