09-15-1995John Popper arrested on weapons charges

John Popper was arrested in South Brunswick, NJ for having hollow-point bullets and a small dagger in the back of his jeep. While the bullets are perfectly legal to possess, it was that he had them on the open that got him in trouble. State law says that ammunition should be carried in a locked trunk of a vehicle; however, Popper's jeep has an open back.

Popper was released without bail, and could be facing up to 18 months in jail if convicted.
